William John Paskey

William John Paskey, Sr. age 80 of Waupun passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2010, at the Madison V.A. Hospital.

Bill was born on May 12, 1930 in Waupun, the son of Walter and Pauline (Zilch) Paskey. Following his graduation from Waupun High School in 1948, Bill attended Business College for two years. He served with the Unites States Marines during the Korean Conflict. On June 4, 1955, he was united in marriage to Lorna Samer in Randolph. Bill worked as an accountant for Waupun Bottling Works, the family owned business. He also used his accounting skills at National Rivet and Manufacturing Company in Waupun for forty-four years, retiring in 1994. Bill was an active hunter, bowler, and fisherman. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Bill also loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Waupun.

Bill is survived by Lorna, his wife of nearly fifty-five years, four children; William (Bridget) Paskey, Jr., St. Charles, IL, Pauline (Michael) Croy, Minneapolis, MN, Robert (Louise) Paskey, Kenosha, WI, and Charles (Douglas Drake) Paskey, Oshkosh, WI. He is further survived by eight grandchildren; one brother, Donald Paskey of Waupun; a sister-in-law, Barbara Paskey, Waupun; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Carl Paskey; one sister, Ruth Auten; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Paskey.

A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 525 West Main Street, Waupun, with Rev. Rolf Amundsen officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, and Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post 210.

Bill’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 2 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun; and on Thursday at the church from 10 until the hour of service.
