Irene Flora Morrison, age 89 of Fond du Lac, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at St. Agnes Hospital surrounded by her children.
Irene was born on October 18, 1920 in Marshfield, WI, the daughter of Louis and Lydia (Duchow) Wundrow. After graduating from Marshfield High School with the Class of 1939, Irene attended Wausau Business School for two years. On December 23, 1944, she was united in marriage to Walter C. Morrison in Marshfield. Irene was a member of St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Oakfield. She enjoyed needlepoint, reading, and playing cards. Irene was a devoted wife, beloved mother; grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished her family.
Irene is lovingly survived by her four daughters, Sandra (Carl) Goron; Margaret (Thomas) Heise; Darlene Angle; and Nancy (Gary) Zupke, all of North Fond du Lac; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter in 1984; her son Daryl Morrison in 1978; parents; two sisters, Lucille Cliver, and Vernice De Sloover; two brothers, Neil Wundrow and Jerold Wundrow; and a son-in-law, David Angle.
A Service to Celebrate Irene’s Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2010 at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 245 Second Street, Oakfield. Burial will follow in Avoca Cemetery of Oakfield.
Irene’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.
A Memorial fund has been established in Irene’s name for the American Cancer Society, and the American Heart Association.
