Viola M. Wickman

Viola M. Wickman, age 89, a long time resident of Waupun, died on Friday, February 19, 2010, at Lord Chamberlain Nursing Center, Stratford Connecticut.

Viola was born May 5, 1920, in Drayton, North Dakota. She was a graduate of Drayton (N.D.) public high school. She was married to LeRoy Wickman on May 5, 1941, and they were together for 47 years until his death in 1988.

Viola had worked at the Waupun Memorial Hospital as a purchasing agent until her retirement. She was also employed with the Sears department store in Waupun for several years. Viola was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for many years.

She is survived by her two sons, Richard (Nargis) Wickman of Spartanburg SC.; and David (Peggy) Wickman of Newtown, CT; five grandchildren, Jenna (Jesse) Brown of Spartanburg SC; Diana and Paula Wickman of Newtown CT; Randall (Lisa) Wickman of Miami, Fl; Bethany (Daniel) Dengel of Pewaukee WI; four great-grandchildren, Conrad, Carlena Wickman; and Caden and Kyra Dengel. She is further survived by three sisters- in-law, Patricia Molter (Wickman); Nila (Harold) Jewett; and Rose Anderson; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband her first son Dean Wickman.
A memorial service for Viola M. Wickman will be at 11:00 am Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun. Inurnment will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun.

Viola’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services.
