William Kahlow, age 82, of Waupun, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Golden Years Living in Randolph where he has resided for the past several months.
William was born on October 12, 1927 in Mayville, a son to Arthur and Emma (Wegat) Kahlow. He served his country with the United States Air Force from November 1945 to August 1948; and remained in the reserves until September of 1952. On December 6, 1952, he was united in marriage to Gertrude Anfinson in Horicon. William was employed with the State of Wisconsin Department of Corrections for thirty years. He was a master woodworker and an avid Packer fan.
William is survived by Gertrude, his wife of fifty-seven years; three children, George (Jane) Kahlow, Beaver Dam; Steven (Petria) Kahlow, Australia; William Jay (Lisa) Kahlow, Beaver Dam; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; one step great-granddaughter; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and two sisters.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun, with the Rev. Steven Aust officiating. Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Horicon, at a later date.
A Memorial Fund is being established in William’s name.
