Sadie De Boer, age 92, of Randolph went to her heavenly home on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Golden Living Center - Continental Manor in Randolph.
Sadie was born on November 6, 1917 in the Town of Fox Lake, Dodge County, WI, the daughter of Abraham and Sarah (Boersma) Van Herwaarden. On March 9, 1946 she was united in marriage to Louis De Boer. Sadie was a lifelong Randolph area resident, and member of the First Reformed Church, where she was active in the Women’s Guild and quilting group. Sadie joined her husband in his work as a cheesemaker at the Sunny Creek Cheese Factory for many years. She was also formerly employed at Jungs Seed Company and Educators Progress Service. Sadie was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed the tasks of homemaking, especially baking. She kept busy with crocheting and quilting; crafting many special treasures for her family and friends.
Sadie is survived by her son, Harlyn and his wife Melinda De Boer of Waunakee; her grandson Michael De Boer of Ellicot City, Maryland; her granddaughter, Sharon and her husband Andrew Kleist of Eau Claire, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Louis in 1977; her brother Henry Van Herwaarden and his wife Gladys.
A service to celebrate Sadie’s life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 15, 2010 at First Reformed Church, 406 S. High St, Randolph, with Rev. Tim Ehrhardt and Rev. Ben Bruins officiating. Burial will follow at the Randolph Cemetery.
Sadie’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, October 14, 2010 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Randolph Community Funeral Home, 208 S. High St., and on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services.
A memorial fund has been established in Sadie’s name for the Bible League and the First Reformed Church of Randolph.
