Robert Thomas Lloyd, age 91, of Randolph, died on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the Christian Home Health and Rehabilitation Center of Waupun.
Bob was born on June 23, 1919 in the Town of Randolph, Columbia County, WI, a son of Arthur and Sarah (Jones) Lloyd. He graduated from Cambria High School and attended the Farm Short Course at UW Madison. He then returned to work on the family farm where he was born and raised, which was in the family since 1872. On September 9, 1967, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Pritchard in Randolph. They enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe and Hawaii. Bob was proud of his Welsh Heritage and enjoyed attending Gymanfa Ganu (Welsh Hymn Sings) in Wisconsin and often traveled to national events. Bob served on the Columbia County Board from 1972 – 1992. He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church where he has served as an Elder and a Trustee. He was also a Mason.
Bob is survived by two sisters-in-law; Shirley Lloyd of Cambria, and Gwen Ganz of Fox Lake, two nephews; Rob Ganz, Fox Lake and Jim Pierce, Palmdale, CA, two nieces; Susie (Curtis Jr.) Knight, Blissfield, Michigan, Connie (Jim) Seidl, Oshkosh; his loving caregiver for nearly twelve years, Mary Mulder (Josh Nowicki), of Fox Lake, close friends Darrell and Shelly Wiersma and family of Cambria; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by Marilyn, his wife of forty years; and two brothers, Pierce and Hayden Lloyd.
A Celebration service of Bob’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 275 North High Street, Randolph, with Pastor Linda Heisler officiating. Burial will follow in the Randolph Cemetery.
Friends and relatives may visit the family at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
A Memorial Fund has been established in Bob’s name for Bethany Presbyterian Church, and Waupun Dialysis.
