Dorothy B. Martin

Dorothy B. Martin, age 89 of Randolph, entered eternal life on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Golden Years Living in Randolph.

Dorothy was born on May 26, 1921 in the Town of Fox Lake, Dodge County, WI, to William P. and Leona (Christian) Bobholz. She graduated from Randolph High School in 1939. She attended Madison Business College, and was employed as a legal secretary for most of her working life. On September 7, 1945, she married Willard Martin in Randolph, and they resided in Battle Creek, MI for six months. They lived in Markesan for a short time before moving to Florida, then Georgia, prior to returning to Wisconsin in 1967 where her husband was a school teacher in Stoughton. Since 1977, Dorothy has resided with her family in Randolph, where she was formerly a part-time employee at Jung Seed Company for thirteen years. She was a member of Frieden’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and participated in the Ladies Aid.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Stacy K. Martin and his wife Katie of Randolph; two step-grandchildren; Patrick Manning and his wife Cady Cash, and Amanda Manning; a step-great-granddaughter, Hailey Thompson; her sister, Ramona Elliott of Beaver Dam; a brother-in-law, Richard and his wife Kathy Martin of Virginia; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1980, and a sister, Dolores Mitchell, and a niece, Heather Berglund.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2010, at Frieden’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 335 Jones Drive, Randolph with Rev. Walter Goers officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Cemetery.

Dorothy’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Frieden’s Ev. Lutheran Church from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.

A Memorial Fund has been established in Dorothy’s name.
