Julia Stiemsma, age 83 of Randolph, passed away peacefully and entered her heavenly home on Monday, May 17, 2010 at Golden Living Center – Continental Manor in Randolph.
Julia was born on August 21, 1926 in the Town of Fox Lake, the daughter of George and Winnie (Alsum) Eisenga. On June 14, 1945, she was united in marriage to Louis Stiemsma at First Randolph Christian Reformed Church. Julia was a special, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a lifelong member of First Randolph Christian Reformed Church in East Friesland.
Julia is survived by five children; Gary (Cindy) Stiemsma, Wally (Rose) Stiemsma, Sandra (Arlyn) DeVries, Jean (Chuck) De Boer, and Faye (Stan) De Boer, all of Randolph, fifteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law and friend, Martha Kok, Cambria, and Evelyn Douma, Randolph; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Louis; her granddaughter Julia DeVries; two brothers, Clarence and Newton, and infant twin brothers, Richard and Raymond Eisenga.
A Service to Celebrate Julia’s Life will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at First Randolph Christian Reformed Church, N 8876 East Friesland Road, Randolph with Rev. Ken Prol officiating. Burial will follow in the Friesland Cemetery.
Julia’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at the church from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the hour of services.
A memorial fund has been established in Julia’s name for the Randolph Christian School.
