Anna Eileen White, age 90 and formerly of Iowa, died peacefully on Friday, October 30, 2009 at the Christian Home Rehabilitation Center of Waupun, WI.
Anna was born on January 21, 1919 in Keswick, Iowa, a daughter to John and Susie (Healey) O’Brien. She graduated from North English High School in 1937. On June 27, 1940, Anna was united in marriage to John “Vincent” White.
Anna is survived by two daughters, Priscilla (Steven) Carpenter, Tifton, Georgia; and Margaret (Todd) Schneider, Waupun, WI; her daughter-in-law, Janet White, Iowa City, IA; three grandchildren, Sheila (Sherman) Holland, Rosewell, GA; Cindy (John) Thalheimer, Tifton, GA; and Michael (Tami) Carpenter, Pennsburg, PA; five great-grandchildren, Christopher Holland; Jeremiah Thalheimer; Natasha, Lucas, and Daniel Carpenter; one brother, William (Helen) O’Brien, Shelton, WA; her sisters, Ellen Girard, North English, IA and a sister-in-law, Charmaine O’Brien, Cambridge, WI.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982; a son, Jon White; an infant son; five brothers, John, Edmond, Hugh, Joseph and Lawrence O’Brien; and four sisters, Mary Pauline O’Brien; Frances Baker; Ellavene Longwell; and Mary Van Dee.
A Celebration Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at St. Wencelaus Catholic Church, 630 E. Davenport Street, Iowa City, Iowa, with the Rev. Rudolph Juarez officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Marengo Catholic Cemetery.
Anna’s family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Thursday from 10:30 until the hour of service.
