Doris N. Daniels

Doris N. Daniels, age 86 went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at the Waupun Memorial Hospital.

Doris was born July 22, 1923 in Waupun the daughter of Joseph and Linda (Paskey) Bohnert. She attended Waupun area schools and following her education, Doris was employed with National Rivet (Schalers) during WWII as a rivet sorter. She was united in marriage to Robert A. Daniels on March 9, 1947 in Waupun. The couple moved to Sparta, Wisconsin after their marriage, where Doris was employed with the Wisconsin Child Center of Sparta for 2 ½ years. Following the death of her husband, Doris returned to Waupun to be with her family. She was a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church of Waupun and St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Sparta and was also a member of the Ladies Aid of both churches. She also taught Sunday school at Grace Lutheran Church and volunteered at the Waupun Senior Center and was a Foster Mother for six years. Most of all, Doris was a Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, sister and friend to many. Doris’s real passion was children. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and crafts of all kinds.

Doris is survived by her four children, Richard (Mary) Daniels, Chaska, MN; Karen (Gary) Flier, Waupun; Robert (Rebecca) Daniels, Chesapeake, Virginia; and David (Mi Nan) Daniels, Copperas Cove, TX ; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer Daniels (Mike Eichhorn), Jacob Daniels, Dawn (Calvin) Greenfield, Phillip (Rhonda) Daniels, Brenda Daniels, Connie (Ben) Tingley, and David Daniels, Jr., 7 great-grandchildren, Caillie, Kailey, Bryce, Hannah, Eydie, Samuel and Marla; a sister, Lois Schleicher, Waupun; and a sister-in-law, Jean Bohnert, Waupun; and by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, on Sept. 10, 1994, a grandson, Eric Flier, two brothers, Alfred and Ralph Bohnert, a sister-in-law, Marion Bohnert, and a brother-in-law, Frank Schleicher and her parents.

A celebration of Doris’s life will be held 10 am Monday, August 10, 2009 at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 113 County Park Road, Waupun with the Rev. Christopher Doerr officiating. Interment will be held at 3 pm in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Sparta.

Doris’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 W. Main Street, Waupun from 5-7 pm and at the church on Monday from 9 am until the hour of service.

A memorial fund is being established in Doris’s name.
