Angeline Blanche Zick

Angeline Blanche Zick, age 89 of Waupun, died on Monday, June 29, 2009, at Waupun Memorial Hospital with her family surrounding her.

Angeline was born in Alto, WI, on October 12, 1919, the daughter of John and Mary (Van Buren) Vossekuil. She attended Alto Elementary School and graduated from Waupun High School in 1938. She was employed as an inspector at National Rivet Company during WWII. On February 23, 1946 she married Wilton A. Zick in Waupun. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and her grandchildren were very special to her. Angeline enjoyed the duties of homemaking and was well known for her baking. She also enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting, and playing cards. In her later years, Angeline loved going out for dinner with family and friends. She was a lifelong area resident and a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was active in the Women’s Circle.

Angeline is survived by her two sons, Wilton (Lynn) Zick of Beaver Dam; and Darryl (Linda) Zick of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Julie (Jim) Mai; Joel (Jennifer) Zick;
Heather Zick (special friend Kevin Jordan) and Michelle (Ben) Vissers. She is further survived by five great-grandchildren, Amanda, Jordan, and Caleb Mai; Addison and Landon Zick; and another expected in October; and a great-great granddaughter, Gwen Williams.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wilton on August 30, 2006; her parents; a great-granddaughter, Melissa Mai on June 29, 2005; her sister, Generva; and her brother Jerry Vossekuil.

A Service to Celebrate Angeline’s Life will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun, with the Rev. Christopher Doerr and Rev. Rolf Amundsen officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.

A Memorial Fund has been established in Angeline’s name.
