Marion A. Kreuziger, age 90 of Waupun, died on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home where she has resided for the past six years.
Marion was born on January 18, 1919 in the Town of Oakfield, Fond du Lac County, WI, a daughter to Rinard and Gertrude (Kohings) Beekman. She was a lifelong resident who attended area schools. On August 16, 1938, she was united in marriage to Frank M. Kreuziger at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun. Marion assisted her husband on the family farm in the Town of Waupun. She cherished her role as homemaker, which kept her busy cooking, baking, and sewing for her family. Marion enjoyed many other activities in her spare time including playing piano and organ, and fishing with her husband and children. She was a loving grandmother who was actively involved with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marion was fluent in the German and Dutch language, and was an excellent yodeler. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Marion is survived by five children, Frank (Luanna) Kreuziger, Waupun; Beverly (Phil) Reiser, Manitowoc; Phillip Kreuziger, Waupun; Matt (Doris) Kreuziger, Redgranite, WI; and Christopher Kreuziger and his fiancé Sue Guidry of Waupun; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaugther; her brother, James (Bev) Beekman, Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband on September 14, 1996; a grandson John; her parents; two brothers, and three sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 118 West Main Street, Waupun with the Rev. Michael Sturm officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Marion’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 7:30 p.m.; and at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 until the hour of service.
A Memorial fund has been established in Marion’s name.
