Charles Glen Riel, age 40 of Brandon, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.
Chuck was born on January 5, 1969 in Waupun, a son of George and Mary (Raymaker) Riel. He was a lifelong area resident. Chuck was self-employed as a carpenter with his business, “Chuck & CJ Wazup Home Repair”. He was a great carpenter and took pride in his work and helping others. He participated in various outdoor activities from joy-riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, to four-wheeling up north with his family; and enjoying campfires. Chuck was a busy man, but never too busy to help someone fix cars or make household repairs. He loved the times of family vacations to Florida, and to NASCAR races. Chuck always enjoyed spending time with his large family and especially being with his son CJ.
Chuck is survived by his son, Charles G. “CJ” Riel, Jr. of Brandon; his mother, Mary Klatt, also of Brandon; Eight siblings, Tom (Sue) Riel, Fond du Lac; Rose (Bill) Henke, Markesan; Dennis (Lorrain) Riel, Gloria (Dave) Lemke, both of Waupun; Barbara Gavanda, Fond du Lac; Doug (Katrina) Riel, Beaver Dam; Judy (Scott) Hill, Waupun; Bonnie Riel, Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and an infant niece.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Edgewood Community Church, 201 Edgewood Drive, Waupun, with the Rev. Roger Knowlton officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Forest Mound Cemetery.
Chuck’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
A Memorial Fund is being established for Chuck’s son CJ.
