Paul Joseph Singer

Paul Joseph Singer passed away at Waupun Memorial Hospital on March 5, 2009 at the age of 81.

Paul was born in Chicago, IL on May 21, 1927, to Samuel Singer and Polly (Chanley) Singer. He graduated from Marion High School, Marion, WI, in 1945. Paul served in the U.S. Army August 1945 until his honorable discharge November 1946. Paul married Betty Ann Elandt on May 28, 1948, in Marion, WI. They moved to Waupun in 1953, where they resided their entire married life. He worked as an electrician at Dodge County Correctional Facility until his retirement.

Paul is survived by two sons Dr. James Singer and his wife Laurie, of Fort Collins, CO; Dr. Thomas Singer and his wife Marianna, of Portage, MI; a daughter Karen Klein and her husband Michael Klein, of San Diego, CA; six grandchildren; Sarah (Lars) DeVore of Salt Lake City, UT; Erin Singer of Fort Collins, CO; William and Emma Singer both of Portage, MI; Melissa (Christopher) Pressman of Phoenix, AZ; and Michael Singer of Fond du Lac. He is also survived by a sister, Sally Heinl, of Racine, WI, and four great-granddaughters, Olivia and Violet DeVore and Madeline and Meredith Pressman.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Betty and son, Steven.

Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2009 at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun with the Chaplain Wick Hubers officiating. Paul’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

In Lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Paul’s name for The American Cancer Society.
