William G. Connell

William G. Connell, 60, formerly of Randolph, WI died Friday, December 25, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, Iowa.

William was born April 24, 1949 in Clinton, Iowa, son of Leo and Estella (Welsh) Connell. He is a graduate of St. Joseph's High School in Dewitt, IA and the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA. On November 9, 1985 he was united in marriage to Laurie Loes at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa. William owned and operated the Randolph Hardware Store in
Randolph, WI.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie Connell of Randolph, WI and formerly of Cascade, IA; four children, Brian Connell of Cascade, IA, Benjamin Connell of Dubuque, IA, Megan Connell at home and Joseph Connell of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Mary Sinatra of Clackamas, OR; and one brother, Alan Connell of Dewitt, IA; his father and mother-in-law, Frederick and Patricia Loes of
Cascade, IA.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wayne Connell.

The family will greet friends after 10:00 a.m. until time of services at St. Martin's Church in Cascade, Iowa. Services for William will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2009 with Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Concelebrating will be Rev. Michael Wild.

Friends may also call from 3 to 6 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Randolph Community Funeral Home in Randolph, WI, where a memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m.

A William G. Connell memorial fund has been established in lieu of flowers.
