Dustin Edward Vredeveld, age 22, of Randolph, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 19, 2009, following an automobile accident.

Dustin was born in Chicago, Illinois, on December 15, 1987, the son of Walter and Lori (Galloway) Schmidt. He attended grade school in Randolph, and Tennessee, and graduated 8th grade from Oak Creek, WI. Dustin then returned to Randolph for his High School education where he was active in baseball, basketball, FFA; and was the 2006 Senior Class President. Following his high school graduation, his love for baseball was fulfilled participating in the home town talent league. Pugs was currently employed by The Galaxy in Randolph. He was loved by all and a cherished friend to many. He enjoyed golfing and fishing.

Dustin is survived by his adopted father, James (Kathy) Vredeveld, Fox Lake; a step-brother, Todd (Amy) Strupp; a step-sister, Amie (Wayne) Rettig; his aunt, Barb (Lee) Post, Plymouth; his uncles, Bruce (Amy) Vredeveld, Randolph; Steve (Patti) Vredeveld, Stevens Point; his Godparents, Richard “Sam” and Debbie Schneiter, Randolph; his special family, John and Irma Crescio, Randolph; a great uncle, Carl (Patricia) Galloway, Chicago; uncles, Ray (Brenda) Galloway, Montello; and Sid Galloway, Black Canyon City, AZ; many friends, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1996; his mother in 2001; and his grandparents; Lawrence and Marion Vredeveld, and Maxine and James Galloway.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Randolph Community Funeral Home, 208 South High Street, Randolph.

A Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Randolph United Methodist Church, 227 North High St., with the Rev. Jeffrey Meyer officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, The Dustin Vredeveld Memorial Fund has been established at the Markesan State Bank, 170 Kienow Drive, Randolph, WI 53956.
