Jeanette Lont, age 91 of Randolph, was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 from her earthly home surrounded by her family.
Jeanette was born on August 3, 1918 in Geraldine, Montana, a daughter of Orrie and Dora (VenHuizen) Monsma. On July 2, 1946, she was united in marriage to Chester Lont, in Michigan. The couple settled on a farm near Randolph where they raised their family and taught them the value of faith and hard work. Jeanette enjoyed her role as homemaker; excelling in cooking, baking, and sewing. She was a loving wife and mother; devoted grandmother, and great-grandmother, who maintained a close relationship with her family. Jeanette was raised in the Protestant Reformed Faith, attended Christian Reformed and Reformed church congregations, active as a past Sunday School Teacher and Ladies Aide Member. She portrayed the example of the Proverbs 31 woman, faithfully serving where she was called. Jeanette loved the Lord, shared her faith, and was thoughtful of and helped others whenever she could.
Jeanette is survived by her six children, John Lont, David Lont, and Orville (Kathy) Lont, all of Randolph; Clarence (Jean) Lont, Waupun; Roger (Sue) Lont, Fond du Lac; and Patricia (Ronald) Van Buren, Randolph; six grandchildren, Brian (Tonya) Lont, Waupun; Lori Lont and her fiancé Bill Koeninger, Chicago; Mark (Nicole) Lont, Beaver Dam; Matthew (Paula) Van Buren; Jared Van Buren, and Melissa Van Buren, all of Randolph; three great-grandchildren, Jacob and Audrey Lont and Lydia Van Buren; her sister Grace (Paul) Van Dyken, Lynden, WA; her brother, Seymour “Sy” (Glenna) Monsma, Kalamazoo, MI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends, Doug Crandall, Cambria; and Diana Eisner, Nekoosa, WI.
She was preceded in death by Chester, her husband of nearly sixty years, in 2006; four brothers, John, Dick, Frank, and William Monsma; and three sisters, Catherine Schaap, Alice Vanden Berge, and Charlotte Kuipers.
A Service to Commemorate Jeanette’s Life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Randolph Community Funeral Home, 208 S. High Street, Randolph, with Rev. Calvin J. Vande Zande officiating. Burial will follow in the Randolph Cemetery.
