Jeannette Arlene Bump, 81, of Randolph, died peacefully on Wednesday November 11, 2009 of natural causes at Columbia Health Care Center, Wyocena, WI.

Jeannette was born in McFarland, WI on February 16, 1928 the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Havey) McFarland. The youngest of seven children, she was the granddaughter of William Hugh McFarland, founder of the town of McFarland. She graduated with honors from Madison East High School in Madison, WI. On Nov. 15, 1947, she married Joseph Bump. Jeannette is adored and greatly loved by her husband of 62 years. Their marriage is an exemplification of the love and partnership that bonds two individuals eternally. Jeannette and Joseph owned and operated New Bohlings, Inc. in Randolph, WI for 50 years. To the delight of her customers, she had a knack for finding unique and interesting toys and gifts to sell in the department store. Jeannette was an avid reader and enjoyed her activities at the Hutchinson Memorial Library in Randolph. She also enjoyed music, theater and movies.

Jeannette is the dearly loved mother of 7 children, Jeffrey (Nancy) Bump, Cambria; Johnnette Bump, Randolph; Joel Bump, Woodstock, GA; Jaclyn Meyer, Randolph; Jerome (Cheri) Bump, Ft. Atkinson; Jorey (Julie) Bump, Windmoor, PA and Joette (Brad) Bump, Appleton. She is the proud grandmother of 27 grandchildren, Christopher (C.J.) MacFarlane, Danielle Dunn, Adrian (Angela) Bump, Dereck Bump, Jocelyn (Matt) Dornfeld, Janalyn Bump, Jordan Bump, Scott Ray, Kimberly (Clay) Mullins, Kevin (Cindi) Ray, Shawn Ray, Kyle (Tiffany) Ray, Klayton Gaumitz, Shane Gaumitz, Harry Bump, Trevor Bump, Joseph Bump, Christine Bump, Jeanine (Jon) Burmania, Jared Meyer, Jennie (Troy) Van Beek, Baldwin (Ashley) Bump, Carmen Bump, Alanna Baldwin, Devon Bump, Isabel Bump and Lily Bump; 3 step-grandchildren Nicholas, Kaitlyn and Benjamin Dresdow as well as 16 great grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren.

Jeannette is survived by her devoted husband Joseph, sister Dorothy Kolofski of Ft. Meyers, FL; children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends who all love her very much.

Jeannette was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Roy McFarland, Harvey McFarland, Milo McFarland; 2 sisters, Avenal Ditreich and Lillian Leuth; son-in-law Joe Meyer and daughter-in-law Susan Bump.

A celebration of Jeannette’s life will be held Wednesday November 18, 2009 from 4-8 pm at Randolph Community Funeral Home, 208 S. High St., Randolph, WI 53956. Funeral services will be held Thursday November 19, 2009 at 2 pm at Annunciation Catholic Church, 305 W. Green St., Fox Lake, WI. The family will receive visitors an hour prior to the service. Randolph Community Funeral Home, Randolph, WI is serving the family.

The family wishes to give their thanks to all her loving caregivers at Columbia Health Care Center. It was often commented that Jeannette was the “sweet woman with the most beautiful skin” and she will be missed by us all.
