Ellen M. "Lynn" Zentarski

d. March 7, 2009

Ellen M. “Lynn” Zentarski, age 83 of Randolph, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at University Hospitals in Madison, surrounded by her loving family.

Lynn was born on January 25, 1926 to Roy and Emily (Moxie) Miller in Terra Haute, Indiana. She met Harold “Cy” Zentarski in Joliet, and a short time later married him on September 25, 1943, in Illinois. After living in larger cities, they relocated to Wisconsin in 1947 where Cy was employed with Bo-Cann Farms near Columbus, so they could raise their family in a smaller community. Eventually they moved to Randolph where Lynn began her local working career. She provided quality babysitting for several local families over the years. Lynn was employed at many area businesses including Rockwell of Randolph, and area restaurants and supper clubs including Feil’s. She owned and operated Cy’s Beer and Liquor in Randolph with her husband for twelve years. Lynn began working at Piggly Wiggly when it opened and will be remembered as the cashier with the ready smile. She retired from the grocery store at the age of 79. Lynn had a helping nature and volunteered her gifts to several local organizations over the years including The Girl Scouts, The Cub Scouts, 4-H, Randolph Band Mother’s, The Service League, and Randolph Chamber of Commerce. She belonged to St. Gabriel’s Christian Mothers’ Society. She was currently a member of Annunciation Catholic Parish. It was her determined nature that allowed her to be self-taught at piano, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She also enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading and vacationing. Her greatest enjoyment came from her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lynn is survived by her five children, Barbara (John) Bubolz, Fox Lake; Vikki (Ronn) Sauer, Beaver Dam; Terri (Cal) Vande Kolk, Ripon; Joseph (Nanette) Zentarski, CA; Michelle (David) Retzlaff, Randolph; seventeen grandchildren, David (Kim) Bubolz; Paul (Karla) Bubolz; Michael (Julaine) Bubolz; Eric Sauer and his fiancé Lisa Nemzoff; Kristopher Sauer, and Anthony (Alison) Sauer; Marla (Will) Pearce; Mark (Angela) DeYoung; Paula (Scott) Draves; Todd Vande Kolk; and Andrea (Cory) Southard; Zachary, Danielle and Brianna Zentarski; Jacqueline, Courtney, and Aaron Retzlaff; and twenty-one great-grandchildren; and her good friend, Bebe Vander Werff.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002; parents; a grandson, Travis Retzlaff.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2009 at Annunciation Catholic Parish, 305 W. Green Street, Fox Lake, with the Rev. Michael L. Wild officiating. Burial will be in the Annunciation Catholic Cemetery in Randolph.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Randolph Community Funeral Home, 208 S. High Street, Randolph from 4 – 7 p.m.; and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.

A Memorial Fund has been established in Lynn’s name for the American Cancer Society, and the American Heart Association.
