Barbara Ann Herpel, age 70 of Randolph, went home to her Heavenly Father, on February 10, 2009 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.

Barbara was born on March 4, 1938 in Beaver Dam, a daughter to Herbert and Helen Meister. She was baptized and confirmed in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Beaver Dam, where she also worked as the church secretary for many years. Barbara graduated from the Beaver Dam High School with the Class of 1957. She was a musician and enjoyed playing the violin for the Beaver Dam Orchestra. On November 14, 1959, she married Roger Herpel at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church where they are currently members, and where Barbara was active as an usher. After they settled in Randolph, Barbara worked for Don DeYoung Insurance Agency for a couple years. She then stayed at home with their sons. For the past twenty years, Barbara has assisted her husband with their business named Bobbye Vending. She was a longtime past member of the Randolph United Methodist Church.

Barbara is survived by Roger, her husband of forty-nine years; two sons, Todd Herpel of Brownsville; Randy (Caroline) Herpel of Randolph; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, John (Lois) Meister, Pewaukee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Memorial Service will be at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2009 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 311 West Mackie Street, Beaver Dam, with the Rev. Mark D. Jensen officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a time of visitation and fellowship on Friday at the church from 3:30 until the hour of service.

A Memorial Fund has been established in Barbara’s name.
