Robert “Bob” J. Anderson, age 78 of Randolph, and formerly of Poynette, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
Bob was born in Portage on May 14, 1930, a son to Carl and Ada (Koenig) Anderson. He served his country with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his service, he worked in Indiana as a sheet metal worker. Bob was an entrepreneur and was involved in many businesses including an aerial photo business. He took great pride in obtaining his pilot license and flying his own personal aircraft. Bob owned and operated The Lakeview Store on Lake WI near Poynette for several years. On December 17, 1988, Bob was united in marriage to Theresa (Bagneski) Bobholz in Randolph. They made their home in Green Bay, and for sixteen years managed their window treatment store called The Blind Shoppe. In 1993, Bob retired and they moved to the Friesland area in 2004. Bob was a longtime member of the Clyde-Sheppard American Legion Post 271 in Poynette. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Bob is survived by Theresa, his wife of twenty years; his son, Robert (Judith) Anderson of Poynette; his daughter, Kim (Dennis) Koslowski of Pittsburgh, PA; stepchildren Kristine (John) Douma, June (Jeff) Tolsma, both of Randolph; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; four sisters; one brother; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including his lifelong best friend, Byron Walters.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 noon on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 101 First Street, Friesland, WI with the Pastor John Unnasch officiating followed by Full Military Honors.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Fund has been established for Guide Dogs of America, 13445 Glenoaks Boulevard, Sylmar, CA 91342.
