Ruth Evelyn (Stargardt) Boers, age 81 died peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2008, at the Fountain View Care Center, in Ripon from complications of a stroke. Ruth was born to Frederick and Augusta (Schultz) Stargardt on April 25, 1927 in Spencer, Wisconsin and resided in the area throughout her childhood. She was united in marriage on April 3, 1946 to Lawrence Victor Boers in Ripon, Wisconsin. Ruth lived in Brandon for over 55 years, where she was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church.

Ruth will be lovingly missed and is survived by three daughters, Doris Le Viness, of St. Helens, OR; June (Robert) Smith, of Tennessee; and Wanda Boers, of Portland, OR; a son, Victor (Audrey) Boers, of Pine Grove, PA; and a daughter-in-law, Debra Boers, of Ripon; She will be missed by her six loving grandchildren, Victor Le Viness and Julie Carey, Tigard, OR; Matthew Boers, Cody (Misty) Boers, both of Ripon; Jason and Jerod Boers, Pine Grove, PA; and Cathy Yagler, Tennessee; her two great-granddaughters, Ariana Le Viness, Tigard, OR; and Madison Boers, Ripon; a sister, Erma (Norman) Kommer, Spencer, WI., a brother-in-law, Alvin Gauger, Spencer, WI; two sisters-in-law, Loretta Stargardt, Two Rivers, WI; and Dorothy Schattschneider, Ripon; and by several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Ruth has joined in heaven her, former husband, two daughters Beverly Mae, Diane Sue, a son Roger, and a son-in-law, James Le Viness. She was also preceded in death by her parents, several sisters and brothers.

A memorial service will be held 11 am Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 107 Prairie Street, Brandon, with Rev. Stuart Dornfeld officiating. Inurnment will be in the Brandon Cemetery. A memorial gathering and visitation for Ruth’s relatives and friends will be held on Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. Ruth’s family request donations be made to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Annette Raube and LaVerne Kok, for assisting Ruth the last years of her life.
