Margaret Florence Neevel, age 91, was received into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at the Christian Home of Waupun.
Margaret was born January 30, 1917 in Alto, Wisconsin, the daughter of Henry and
Katerina “Minnie” (Bruhn) Hull. Margaret received her teaching certificate from Berlin Normal and taught at Oak Grove School for three years. She was united in marriage with Richard Neevel on July 11, 1940 in Alto Township. Margaret was a member of the First Reformed Church of Waupun. She was a member of the Women’s Guild of the church and a Sunday school teacher for many years. Margaret was an active member of the PTA, a Girl Scout leader, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the Marsh Haven. She was an avid gardener, a gifted baker, and she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and working with ceramics.
Margaret’s passion in life was her family. She is survived by her five children, Mary
(Jerry) Keepers, Neenah; Connie (Gene) Loomans, Madison; Elaine (Jack) Diffor,
Wittenberg; Jeanne (Marvin) Neevel-Wiener, Shorewood; and Rick (Donna) Neevel,
Kalamazoo, MI; fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and one great-
great-grandson. She is also survived by her sister, Dr. Marion Hull, Sun City, AZ.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 1997, three brothers, Dr.
Harmon Hull, Kenneth Hull and Carl Hull, a sister, Rhoda Vande Zande and her parents.
A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2008
at the First Reformed Church, 422 W. Franklin Street, Waupun. Chaplain Wick
Hubers will be officiating. Margaret’s family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
A time of fellowship will be held at the church following the committal
service at Forest Mound Cemetery.
