Mildred Tonn, age 99, died peacefully on Friday, May 9, 2008 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 525 West Main Street, Waupun, with the Rev. Rolf F. Amundsen officiating. Interment will be in the Lake Emily Cemetery.
Mildred’s family will receive visitors on Tuesday at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service.
Mrs. Tonn was born on March 29, 1909 in the Town of Fox Lake, Dodge County, the daughter of Gustav and Hulda (Schultz) Grahn. She was married to William R. Tonn on September 25, 1929 at her parent’s home in the Town of Fox Lake. They farmed for thirty-five years in the Town of Trenton and then retired to Waupun in 1971. Mildred was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waupun where she was active in numerous women’s ministries over the years.
Mildred is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Tonn of Poynette; one son, Richard Tonn of Nekoosa; two granddaughters, Missy Voss and Andrea Sturm of Cottage Grove; three great grandchildren, Nicholas Tonn, Brady Voss, and Savannah Sturm; her sister, Hilma Winter, of Appleton; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by William, her husband of fifty-eight years; her parents; three brothers, and three sisters.
