Arthur F. Schiereck, age 95 formerly of Waupun, died peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Clearview Long Term Care and Rehabilitation Center in Juneau, Wisconsin.
Art was born December 16, 1912 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Peter and Mayme (Seip) Schiereck. He was united in marriage to Margaret J. Rens on December 28, 1939 in Alto, Wisconsin. Art was a graduate of Kalamazoo High School. He was a former member of Emmanuel Reformed Church of Waupun and was formerly employed with National Rivet of Waupun for many years in the shipping department. Art had a great sense of humor and enjoyed camping with his family. He was an avid bowler and wintered in Florida following his retirement from National Rivet.
Art is survived by his two sons; Renford (Diane) Schiereck, N. Fort Myers, Florida; Stanley (Sandra) Schiereck, Beaver Dam; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter, a son-in-law, Dennis Marshall, and a sister-in-law, Eleanor De Boer, both of Waupun, and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret, of 60 years on April 5, 1997 a daughter, Linda Draeger Marshall, a son-in-law, Dennis Draeger, two sisters, brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.
The funeral service for Art will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 W. Main Street, Waupun, with Rev. Donald Boss officiating. Interment will be in Forest Mound Cemetery. Art’s family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service.
