Jessie R. Perry

Jessie R. Perry, age 86 died peacefully on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Waupun Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Jessie was born August 4, 1921 in Waupun, the daughter of Jacob and Johanna (Schears) Riel. She was married to Glenn McConnell in 1939. They resided in Waupun and were both employed with Huth-James Shoe Company. Glenn passed away in 1959, and Jessie continued her work at the shoe factory for many years as a supervisor. On June 27, 1964 she was united in marriage to Gordon Perry. They enjoyed polka dancing, camping and traveling. Jessie cherished spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her great-great granddaughter. She also loved going out to eat and gardening.

Jessie is survived by Gordon, her husband of 43 years; her daughter, Iris Ehlert, Waupun; two grandchildren, Raymond (Brenda) Ehlert and Cheryl (Scott) Stobb, both of Waupun; six great-grandchildren, Mark Werner, Nathaniel Ehlert, Kimberly Stobb, Trenton Ehlert, Grant Ehlert, and Patrick Stobb; her great-great granddaughter, Riley Donovan; one brother, Gordon (Jean) Riel, Waupun; her sister-in-law, Laverne Riel, Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends.

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Glenn McConnell; three brothers, James, Richard, and George Riel, and two sisters, Minnie Heideman and Marie Riel.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun, with the Rev. Robert Love, Sr. officiating. Entombment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Fond du Lac, WI.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, April 27, 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Kohls Community Funeral Home and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
