William Robert Raube, age 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 10, 2008 at the Ripon Medical Center.
Bill was born on July 22, 1921 in the Township of Springvale, a son to Herman and Bertha (Borchardt) Raube. He attended Springvalley School and also Brandon High School. On November 27, 1955, he was united in marriage to Hazel Ludemann at Trinity Lutheran Church in Neenah. Bill was a loving husband and devoted father. He was a hardworking dairyman for his entire life, farming the Brandon area. He was a lifelong, dedicated member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Brandon, where served for twenty years as a council member. He also enjoyed working on the church property, and faithfully mowed the lawn for many years. As a member of the Building Committee, he was instrumental in the addition of the Education wing. Bill also enjoyed gardening, dancing, and playing cards.
Bill is survived by Hazel, his wife of fifty-two years; his daughter, Annette Raube of Brandon; two sisters, Marie Raube of Ripon, and Anne Priepke of Fond du Lac. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends Wally and Carol Miller family of Brandon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, John, Henry, Reinhold, Ervin and Edwin; and three sisters, Leona Tabbert, Margaret Peterson, and Verna Priepke.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2008, at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 107 South Prairie St. Brandon, with the Rev. Stuart Dornfeld officiating. Burial will follow in the Brandon Cemetery.
Friends may call on Saturday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
A memorial fund has been established for the Emanuel Lutheran Church.
