Charlotte Schreiber, age 84 was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday evening June 12, 2008 at the Barrett House of Markesan.
Charlotte was born March 19, 1924 a daughter of William and Magdalena (Christian) Tessmann on a farm in the township of Randolph. She was baptized and became a confirmed member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Friesland, where she was also united in marriage on November 4, 1945 to Karl M.T. Schreiber. Karl and Charlotte were blessed with a son, Martin Karl Schreiber on September 4, 1951. Her husband was employed at Dairyman's State Bank of Randolph and later became a cashier with the State Bank of Fox Lake. Following the death of her husband in 1956 at the age of 36, Charlotte and her son moved back to Randolph in 1962. She was employed with Educators Progress where she bound books, was a Kindergarden Teachers aide, and for over ten years worked for Peoples Telephone Company retiring in 1986. Charlotte also was employed for a time with Archie Warners Drug Store and various grocery stores. Her great passion in life was not only the love of her grandchildren but as a seamstress as well. Charlotte was a long time member of Friedens Ev. Lutheran Church of Randolph and was a member of the church choir.
She is survived by her two grandchildren, Kimberly Schreiber, Cottage Grove; and Matthew (Nicole) Schreiber, Cottage Grove; a daughter-in-law, Doris (Paul) Bruns, Sun Prairie; a sister, Erma (Raymond) Oft, Cambria; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Charlotte was preceded in death, by her husband, her son in 1994, two sisters, Viola and Ruth; a brother, Gerhardt; and a sister-in-law, Elviera Bartelt.
The funeral service for Charlotte was held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2008 from Friedens Ev. Lutheran Church, 335 Jones Drive, Randolph, with the Rev. Walter Goers, officiating. Interment followed in Friesland Cemetery.
A memorial fund is being established in Charlotte's name.
