GRACE WIERSMA
Grace Wiersma, age 90, of Randolph, formerly of rural Cambria, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.
Grace was born on December 2, 1917 in Green Lake County, the daughter of George and Gertie (Wiersma) Jansma. On December 12, 1939, she was united in marriage to Charles R. Wiersma in Friesland. She was a member of Friesland Reformed Church and its Mission Society. She and her husband farmed in the Cambria area until they retired.
Grace is survived by four daughters, Gladys (Rev. Joel) Hansma of Corona, CA; Theresa DeVries of Randolph; Lillian (William) Kuiper of Marseilles, IL; and Gloria (Tom) Tamminga of Randolph; three sons, Rev. Ronald (Gracie) Wiersma of Springfield, VA; George (Linda) Wiersma of Beaver Dam; and Eldon (Kathy) Wiersma of Cambria; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Ethel Koster of South Holland, IL; two brothers-in-law, Robert (Clara) Wiersma of Madison and Orval (Catherine) Wiersma of Randolph; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband in 1997; her parents; a grandson, Brian Wiersma; a son-in-law, Harris DeVries; a sister-in-law, Sadie DeYoung; and a brother-in-law, Clifford Wiersma.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Friesland Reformed Church, 107 E. Winnebago, Friesland, with the Rev. Ronald Wiersma and the Rev. Joel Hansma officiating. Burial will follow in the Friesland Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, June 30 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Randolph Community Funeral Home, 208 South High Street, Randolph, and at the Church on Tuesday from noon until the time of services.
