Lucille Meekma, age 95 of Randolph, died on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
Lucille was born on July 27, 1913 in Fort Atkinson, a daughter to William and Agnes (Zimmerman) Carnes. Lucille attended schools in Fort Atkinson and following her graduation, she moved with her family to Randolph in 1930. She was united in marriage to Arthur W. Meekma on September 6, 1940 in Randolph. Lucille and Arthur raised their family and worked on the farm until 1963, when they moved to the village of Randolph. Lucille was a member of the First Reformed Church. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Lucille enjoyed spending time with her family and sewing.
Lucille is survived by her three daughters, Joanne (George) Gove of Winona, Minn; Betty (Jon) Litscher, Beaver Dam; Judeen (John) Niebauer, Middleton; six grandchildren, George Richard III (Molly) Gove; Arthur Christopher (Katie) Gove; Steven Emerson (Amy Jo) Litscher; Amy Jo Litscher; John William and fiancé Tiffany Kultgen; Kimberly Ann (Milan) Racic; and six great-grandchildren, Tommy Gove, Charlie Gove, Ellie Gove, Sydney Gove, Jordyn Gove; and Elias Arthur Litscher.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur in 1987, and a brother Francis Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2008, at the First Reformed Church, 406 South High Street, Randolph with Pastor Ben Bruins. Burial will follow in the Randolph Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service.
A Memorial fund has been established for the First Reformed Church of Randolph.
